My mechanic told me that I am well beyond the usefull life of my transmission, so I should not service it. Is this good advice?

Hi there,

Not at all, all he is doing i feel is priming you up for a new transmission, if it is preforming ok, its fine, if in doubt get a test and report done by a qualified transmission mechanic.
