Iwent through a stoplight gave the Tahoe gas and it just started loosing power the rpm were going up but, we were losing speed. pulled over i put it in Park and then back in drive and it would not move. We shut the tahoe off and sat there for a min. I started it back up and put in drive I could get it up to 20mph and then it would lose speed we could go about 500 ft. and then we would have to shut it off and start the whole process over again. Tranny fluid was fine pink in color did not smell burnt it was @ the level it needed to be at. No signs that trouble was coming it had not been acting up as far as shifting hard or anything unusual No lights or bells came on as far as the message center telling of any problems. We unhooked the battery to try and reset the computer thinking it may have had a glich in it did not help of course. What could the problem be??????
