2002 Chevy Tahoe Low coolant light on

I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe with 145315 miles. The "low coolant" light comes on after starting the engine and stays on but the radiator and plastic reservoir are full. What could it be?

faulty coolant level sensor, located at base of the coolant resevoir tank.
