My wife took our Tahoe to a Chevy dealer last week to have diagnostics ran on it. The check engine light has been coming on and going off for some time now. I already changed the O2 sensors already and still the problem exsists. It will run fine some days and others it will hardly idle and die. The dealer gave her codes of P0101, P0171, P0174 and P0300 and told her the catalytic converter was bad. They said it would cost about $700.00 to repair. From what I've read on each of these codes there is no mention of the catalytic converter. Are these codes a dealer only fix or can I do the repairs myself or take it to a small shop that I use when I can't tackle the job myself? I am sending a donation through Paypal for your help. Thanks.
