2002 Chevy Tahoe clunking noise when braking

when applying brakes my tahoe makes a loud clunking noise that appears to to be coming from driver side wheel. i have repalced brake shoes and had rotors turned. still problem persists. it does not make noise when in power, only when braking

Are you sure the noise is coming from the front? Also, do you get a pulsation at all when using the brakes?
