It seems that my Tahoe isn't getting enough oil to the lifters or something. The motor knocks loudly for a few miles and then runs great. The gauge will bounce back n forth will it continues to knock. Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

Hi there,

I would be thinking that the oil pressure relief valve may be sticky, so the first thing to try is to add a good quality engine flush and get the oil up to normal operating temp, and then do a service with the filter, this may help clean out any muck that may be affecting the valve, start here first.
