Gentlemen-
I currently own a 2001 chevy tahoe 106k. Just recently it has started to lag while shifting gears. Especially in the first three if I go slow. When it gets to where it would normally shift it rev’s almost like it doesn’t have enough torque to switch gears. If I stay on the acceleration pretty hard I cannot notice it, but when I make a 90 turn on a corner 10-20mph and then I give it gas it almost like it was never in gear. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The only two things I can guess is either my tranny is about to go to spiltsville or maybe my torque converter is bad.

Is fluid level good? Has the fluid and filter been changed in the 106k miles? If this is all good then trans needs to be on a scanner to check speed sensors and shift solenoids operation.

Fluid level checked out fine. Changed the fluid and filter at 93k when it was previously giving me problems and it worked itself out. Now that I just typed that I realized that it's time to change it again or at least the filter (every 12k-15k.)

I just replaced my knock sensors (under the intake manifold) two days later my water pump went and thats when it began to be noticable, especially around turns.

When I got in home that night it leaked out a whole lot of coolant, which at first I thought was tranny fluid. With the water pump replaced it still does it. Would one have anything to do with the other? Do I need to drive it and see if it'll adjust?

I'm trying to fix/make sure it's not something else before I take it to a tranny shop and they want $1500 to service it.

I really appreciate your help. Thank you.

Faulty speed sensors or shift solenoids can cause late shift. That is why a scanner is necessary to check there operation.
