2000 Chevy Tahoe Just wanted to know?

Ok so far my truck has been ok, but today i was driving and the engine felt like it was going to stall out then my service engine light came on. So I pulled off the road and it stalled out. I tried starting it but it wouldnt stay started. I had it towed home and then tried staring it but I had my foot on the gas and it sounded like it backfired under the hood. I know I need to take it to the shop but I would like some info if you can

there are alot of things that can cause that, but since the check engine light is on it can greatly help, give me the code and i can help you with your problem.
