1999 Chevy Tahoe no spark

1999 tahoe, some times try to start and it has no spark, disconnect battery wait a while hook up and starts and runs fine. what can cause and is there a crank position sencor and where is it at. thank you

The crank sensor is mounted to the bottom of the block just behind the crank damper.

Check the ground wire that goes to the engine block to the frame.
