If you have turn signals, and third brake light shines, try jiggling the emergency switch on top of the steering column while you apply brakes Listen for a click when you move the flasher switch lightly side to side. You might find that a short in your dimmer/multifunction switch is the problem. I put a small wedge along the e-switch and the brake lights worked. Though, six months later, I got a lot of "you got no brake lights". I now will replace the dimmer/multifunction switch to the tune of $197.00. I seen some auto stores (online) that sell the part for over $425.00. Shop carefully.
