1998 Chevy Tahoe V8 na miles

I want to disconnect the EGR pipe from the exaust manifold and let fresh air flow through the EGR valve. Does anyone know if this will work? Does the EGR valve know what type of air flowing through it? and Will this effect anything with my o2 sensors??

It wont run properly so i suggest you dont do it.
