On my 98 Chevy Tahoe the check engine light came on so i went and had it diagnosed. the scan said that the #8 cylinder was misfiring. i changed the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. the problem was resolved for about a week then it started acting up again. it would run rough at idle. then another week later i was driving and it was running rough whenever i would accelerate and when i pulled to a stop light my druck died out on me. it wouldnt start after a few tries but when it finally started a real loud squealing sound came. it sounded lke it was coming from the alternator, but i could be wrong.
