1997 Chevy Tahoe low engine temp.

I replaced the thermostat, radiator and radiator cap and the engine temp will not stay at or near 195 degrees. it drops to 150 degrees once the thermostat opens. I believe this is causing poor mpg. any ideas

Use a thermometer to check the coolant temp at the radiator
you may have bad sending unit
or a defective thermostat

May have the wrong antifreeze / water ratio for the temp. of your area
