1997 Chevy Tahoe gas gauge moving

I have a 97 tahoe and the gas gauge moves back and forth while driving. When i accelerate the gauge moves more towards full. When i brake the gauge goes towards empty. How do i fix this problem?

It sounds like the float in the fuel tank may be going bad. It is part of the fuel pump.
