car ran fine stopped for about an hour,I did not have p/s. checked belt and fluid ok

Remove the belt, check the pulley, see if it moves in and out, these have been known to break the shafts inside the pumps.. If it did, it will spin real easy, and you can probably pull the pulley off with part of the shaft still attached! You will lose the fluid in the pump though!
