1996 Chevy Tahoe Battery will not hold a charge....

We have checked the battery and it is good. We have cleaned the connections and they are fine. I can charge the battery and instantly it will start. I go to the store and then my battery dies. I need a jump then I am good. Do I need to replace my cables?
