After having to step on the brakes really hard one time to avoid a crash--the ABS light came on.

Someone said that could mean several different fixes ranging from a wheel sensor (least expensive) to the ABS box (most expensive).

They also said there was a diagnostic chip that could be accessed? I didn't know this car had a diagnostic chip. Where is it? Can I access it or is this something a mechanic does?

I guess that I don't really want to put $800 into this truck if $100 will fix it.

Any suggestions?
