Transmission problem
1996 Chevy Tahoe Four Wheel Drive Automatic 136000 miles

Started my vehicle, let it warm up and put it 4x4 and it would not engage. It worked the day before just fine no grinding or howling noises. It might not have been out of 4x4 when i turned it off the day before, don't know if that could have caused the problem.

Have you checked to see if there is power to the 4wd actuator on the transfer case?
