I've been having issues with the transmission on my 96 tahoe. I have let it sit most of the summer and recently had it rebuilt 2 weeks ago. Well clutches are slipping once again. I really baby this truck as well. 260,000 mostly highway miles, and I rarely tow anything besides a little snowmobile trailer

I recall reading something on here regarding something that kept causing the 4l60E to keep going out. I think it had to do with 96 tahoe's as well. No idea why it keeps happening but I would like to get this issue resolved or move on to another vehicle.

Is there something possible wrong with the computer or something inbetween the computer and the transmission?

Well previous to it going out last time my throttle position sensor was not working properly. Fixed that. E

The only other codes I was throwing was for a misfire on cylinder 5 and 6. Apparently something was lose or broke within the distributor, and that was just fixed. I also need intake gaskets. My friend who is a mechanic said his best guess is that the clutches are not catching and when you pull the dipstick you can smell burned fluid.

So the trans was rebuilt like 2 weeks ago, and I put roughly 500 miles on it and it's out again? I just don't understand how it can go out that quick.

They guy who rebuilt it, is a stand up guy and said he would take care of me but still, I want to resolve the problem.
