Have a 94 chev tahoe, v6, vortec engine. replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor and cleaned egr valve.
Vehicle idles rough, smoothes out after rough takeoff, blows black smoke when punched for passing.
Had a mechanic do a scan, he said all appeared to be normal and suspects gas lines (plastic) that run under intake manifold are leaking. My question is: does this sound like the problem or could it be o2 valve or please give me some ideas to check out and how to make those checks. I am a backyard mechanic with Sears wrenches fo be simple in your answers.
Thanks guys
Bill

i agree with the mechanic, it could be the plastic lines in the upper intake. it could also be a o2 sensor but i think more the lines if anything
