99 Suburban

I have a 99' Suburban,5.7L with 68K miles.One day I was about to reverse into my garage and when I went to shift into reverse gear my truck didn't move. So I shifted into park and again down shift into reverse and it sounds like the reverse gear is not engaging. I tried every other gear and my truck engages in every other gear but reverse. When I put it into reverse it has a high idle. What could be the problem?

Hi Miss J,

I know this sounds kinda silly an all, but have yu checked the fluid for the transmission. Maybe it might be low. Daddy wonders when the last time you changed the transmission filter?

If may be beneficial to have the codes pulled from the computer on this one. A code reader is fairly inexpensive and may be of use on the future, especially for this forum.
