It may be a wheel bearing. Does the sound change when you turn?

The noise ended up being a heat shield partially tore loose on top of the muffle. A 33 inch hose clamp around the muffler cured my problem. The guy at the local muffler shop knew what it was right away.

WHen you described it as a moan or vibration, I thought wheel bearing. If you would have said it made a ratteling sound, I would have know right away. I have fixed many heat shields the same way. I'm glad you got it fixed. Let us know if you have questions in the future.
