We have a 2004 suburban 4x4. It has all of the regular service done. About one year ago the problem started. Here's the problem: Periodically(about once every two -three weeks) the vehicle will not start. The engine makes absolutley no sound no clicks etc. We have had it to the dealer 4 times and even to an auto electric shop. We've replaced the battery- no change. We have had the vehicvle towed to the dealer but when it got there it started. Most times when it wont start if you come back in 10-20 minurtes it will start like nothing happened. Problem not linked to whether vehicle is cold or warmed up nor to gasoline level.

Please help.

When the problem occurs, can you do some testing at the starter relay? Have you tried cranking in neutral?

Two guys came out from the Chevy district office (my wife has been persistent and has better manners than me) today to my house and got the vehicle going. They drove it to the local shop and said it was the starter. They said it had finally "declared itself" and was DEFINITELY bad. So 500 bucks later they said it is fixed- "unless it breaks again"- my quotes.

I'm not sure why it tok so long to figure this out when in the past they said that it was not the starter so let's stay tuned.
Thanks
