Does it vibrate at higher speeds? Sounds like you have a dry U-Joint. If it's already squeaking, you better just have it replaced. The damage has probably already been done. Lubricating it may shut it up temporarily but not for long. To check them, first block the wheels, set the parking brake, and remove the drive shaft. Move the u-joints by hand. You'll probably feel a tight spot, or even hear the squeak. The reason the noise goes away when you put it in neutral is the load is taken off the drivetrain.
