2004 chevy suburban 5.3 flexfuel. When starting to drive I am hearing a noise coming from around the u joint its like a creaking noise that is going with vehicle speed. It is most noticable when starting driving and coming to a stop. Its not the brakes. I was told that my u joints might be dirty so I took it to a car wash and sprayed underneath and that stopped the noise for a while but a couple of weeks later it returned

Disconnect the driveshaft and check the rear u-joint it's probably binding. It sounds like a bad u-joint, if it is replace it.

Hello -

Based off what you have said and the number of miles it appears to me that your U-Joints need replacing. They probably don't have grease fittings on them. The replacements usually do.

I would also suggest having your drive shaft rebalance once it is off. You can check at several different truck repair facilities and some have balance shops right there. We have a local semi truck repair facility near by and next door is a shop that specializes in drive shafts and universal joints. Since many have to be pressed on.......I remove the drive shafts and drop them off there. They replace the u-joints, rebalance the shaft and back in no time.

If you need more assistance, to better assist you please tell me the model of your vehicle. Is it a  ton or  ton....... Also the engine size in liter and the 8th digit of your VIN.
