Hello,

If you have the check engine light illuminated. You will need to use a OBDII scanner to retrieve the code(s) as well as to clear those code after the necessary repair has been made.

I you do not have a scanner you can simply go to your local auto parts store, and they can scan and clear codes for you.

Keep in mind that many times the EVAP leaks can be due to a leaky hose or a stuck open purge valve. So, it is important to know the code(s) as it can help with the diagnostics.
