2003 Chevy Suburban fuel

The gas tank reads 1/4 and then in matter of minutes it goes to empty and it dies

Hi, if the vehicle dies because the the tank is empty, don't trust the gage. Possible issues with gage, the sending unit in the tank-- the gage itself-- problem with the wiring circuit.
