2002 Chevy Suburban What is it?

Noises problem
2002 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently purchased a 2002 Suburban. Just above the drivers seat in the headliner there appears to be a small speaker (One and a half inch diameter). Now and then when I first switch the ignition one there is some "White Noise" which goes after a few seconds.
Do you have any idea what this might be?

It's the on star system speaker.
