2001 Chevy Suburban Hatchback wont stay up

One day I opened my back hatchback/liftback and it wouldn't stay up. It is getting heavier each day and falls right back down when opened. What do you do to fix this?

Hello, maybe you need new (support lifts), I forget the proper name, they are arms, one on each end of the gate?
