2001 Chevy Suburban Gas Tank Pop

After the truck is turned off there is a loud pop that can be heard from the gas tank. I have tried driving with the gas cap off and it will still pop. Anyone have any suggestions as to what steps I should take to diagnose and fix the problem. Thanks

If it made the noise when the cap was off, then it can't be pressure. Chances are the fuel pump is leak. Does it sound like something moving around and maybe hitting in the tank?
