2000 Chevy Suburban Stuck in 4 wheel High

My vehicle is stuck in 4High. I heard numerous things this could be. Not looking to replace the transmission to get to this seemingless small problem. Looking for advice. The message center is saying service 4WD.

Chances are the actuator isn't responding. However, if the service 4wd light is on, there should be a trouble code stored in the computer. What I suggest is to have the computer scanned. Most parts stores will do it free of charge.

Have that done and let me know what you find.
