1999 Chevy Suburban slipping

on take off wont engage to second untill let off gas..and slips out when going into passing gear to pass someone no service light..should i just change the trans fluid and filter and go from there?my 4x4 service light goes on after awhile if im offroading..could the transfercase cause these issues in the trans?[img:1161e3fd51]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/585147_007_1.jpg[/img:1161e3fd51]

I would change the trans fluid and filter.

The 4x4 light should be readable at a garage with a body and chassis scaner.
