1998 Chevy Suburban Brake Lights

I'm not sure what is going on here. When I press in my break peddle lightly, my break lights turn on, but when I continue to press in the pedal further they turn off. Any Ideas.

I would say the switch at the brake pedal arm, needs to be replaced...
