My 1997 suburaban steers harder to the left and way to easy to the right. Upon a right corner or turn it sometimes feels like the steering is gone for a second (the steering wheel moves slightly like nothing is there). There is no play to the left but plenty to the right. I have had a alighnment done but didn't help. I am wondering if the steering gear is worn out. Any response would be greatly appreciated.

Does it sometimes feel like you hit a patch of ice on the road?
