1997 Chevy Suburban please help

sometimes when i start my suburban the gauges dont work and the tranny doesn't shift, diagnostics said shift selenoids but i dont think it would cause the gauges not to work.. i was told it could be the electric ignition harness is this possible? What could it be.?

HI there,

Get the shift solenoid problem sorted first, i would be checking that the battery terminals are clean and tight, any cables off the positive side are also clean and tight, check all earth straps as well, start here.
