Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My question is: My Suburban has alot of miles on it . And I want to swap the motor. Can I rebuild any year 350 engine and then put all my components on that motor or does the motor I put back in it have to be year specific?

right around those years they changed the intake mountings on the engines. Also they went to metric bolts in the later 80's or early 90s. I do think that a 96 or 98 engine should do ok though as they have the same type intake... that will be your largest problem.
