Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Drove vehicle, ran fine. Went to start again, oil spraying from under car. Checked filter. Loose. Changed oil and replaced filter. Started the car and it blew the O-ring out of the filter, spraying oil everywhere. When starting, the gauge goes to about 65-70lbs. Why would a suburban have so much oil pressure as to blow the O-ring out of the filter?

Thanks for the quick reply. The relieif valve is still in the pump correct? Or have they relocated them remotely on newer vehicles?

Hello,
Does anyone know if you can pull the distributor and remove the motor mount bolts, and lift the engine up to the tunnel to pull the pan off of a 350 in a 4wd suburban? I would much rather do this than pull the engine.

If it were a 2wd it wouldn't be a problem. But the front axle is in the way.
