When driving and I switch to defroster the air does not come out at the windshield. When I run the air conditioner the air does not come out of the dashboard. The air does not come out anywhere very strong. It's like it is caught in between and wants to come out everywhere a little bit. Turning the knob that switches from air cond to defroster does not seem to do anything.

you will have to see if your air motors are getting power or are just stuck. They move either electric or vacuum depending on which system you have. You'll have to go under the dash by the heater and look around. You may have to remove a panel to see it. Try moving it by hand and then use the heater control and if it works it was probably stuck. If not you'll need some other tools to actually check it. Or if you find a little hose off reconnect it. If it is vacuum you may hear a hissing sound if the line is disconnected or broken.
