why doesn't my brake lights work when i have new fuses and bulbs why does only the light above the door when i push the brake pedal

Did you check for voltage at the rear brake lite? Your turn signal and brake lite use the same bulb fillament, just, not at the same time. Your brake lite is wired through the turn signal switch. If there is no voltage at the rear brake lite, when there should be, I look at the turn signal switch, next. You could also check the brake switch.
