1994 Chevy Suburban

MY KEY GOT STUCK IN THE IGNITION WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON. AT FIRST, WHEN I FIRST TURNED THE KEY AND STARTED THE ENGINE, THE TRUCK WOULDNT GO INTO GEAR. AFTER PLAYING WITH IT FOR A MINUTE, I DECIDED TO TURN IT BACK OFF, THINKING THAT I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TOO FAR, BUT IT WOULDNT TURN OFF BECAUSE THE KEY IS CURRENTLY STUCK IN THE ON POSITION. FINALLY, THE TRUCK WENT INTO GEAR BUT IT WONT TURN OFF BECAUSE THE KEY WONT TURN. I HAVE REMOVED THE IGNITION FUSE AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY.
WHAT MUGHT BE THE PROBLEM AND WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND BE DONE.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE
MR. ROHN

Mr. Rohn:
It sounds like the tumbler has gone bad. It will need replaced.
