I have a 94 Sub with a "NEW" GM 5.7 motor with 8000 miles. I was driving down the road and it just shut off. The Fuel and ignition system shut down. There is power to the fusses and there good, for the affected systems. The code reader shows a 81,and 82 code witch are a transmission code. The ignition switch on the steering column looks ok and I put in a new distributer and coil on installation of the motor. Where should I look next ??

welcome to the forum, when the problem occurs, if no spark at plugs, check coil primary circuits. Positive to coil goes hot when you turn on the key, usually, no crank. If no voltage may have to check feed to and from the ignition switch.

The coil is at bottom of picture. the feed to the ignition switch is two red wires, hot all the time, protected by fusible links.

I have power to all the systems. It cranks well and power to the fuses for the Ign,injectors, and fuel pump but nothing works. No gas no spark.

Do you have primary voltage at ignition coil, key on? Use a testlite.

That kind of cold is dangerous. I'd wait till spring, lol. Also check the circuits at the fuel pump relay.
