1993 Chevy Suburban vehicle does not hold a charge

I put in a new battery, chevy will not hold a charge, in less than a quarter mile battery is dead,
outside of vehicle battery is fine.

what gives

Did you have the alternator checked? Also, I need you to check for a constant draw on the battery. Here is a how to. Check it and let me know what you find.
