The car is pulling 178 ma after is off for one hour. One website said that it should not drain more than 50ma.

Is 178 ma normal for this Chevy Suburban or not?

If not, could the problem be that the Electrical control computer isn't engaging "sleep mode" causing the battery power to drain.

I attched some diagnstic Procedures to check some of the wiring harness that could be likl;y drains. I could not find a Ma output number for your truck in our service manual.
I hope these help. Also don't rule out an afteraket stereo system that could be wired inproperly or shorted out.
