Engine Performance problem
1990 Chevy Suburban V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

engine dies after water temp guage shows 195 but will start up immeadtly and runs ok for a 15 min time period has fire to plugs and hot wire to coil shows ok with test light fuel is going to the throotle body only happens when engine gets hot

Get an ohm meter and test the ECT(engine coolant temp) sensor, should be over 10,000 cold and as it warms up, at 195 it should read 177 ohms.

I did say "test", not replace, you want to prove a bad part before you change it.

Try unplugging, not replacing. The 02 sensors, these come online after the engine warms up, EGR valve too! TEST only, if it proves to be on of them then replace it.
