windshield whipers wont turn off.

1993 silverado ex-cab all power/cruise control, when I turn on whipers they wont turn off, unless I turn off the ignition and restart truck. Possibly replace the switch lever on column? Any suggestions?

Has the Wiper Control Module ever been replaced? Big problems with them..... dealer has a truck-load of them in stock.. all you need to replace it is 1 torx driver. It is the black cover on the wiper motor
