Check engine light

I have a 04' chevy sliverado 1500 2wd. My check engine iight came on recently, I went to my local autoparts store and they scanned it and said it was probably the gas cap loose. I tightened it and it didnt change anything. I unplugged my battery and still no change. Any ideas?

Sounds like an Evap problem, what is the code/s.
