got a very bad gym sock smell without the compressor on. when the the compressor is on it's fine. can you help?

I would have to say that the heater core has accumulated mold/fungus (warm, dark, enclosed space). There is a product that you can spray on the heater core that is anti-microbial to aleviate the problem but I don't remember the brand name off hand.
