I need to know if there is any way to add fuel (gas) to the factory tank from an auxiluary fuel tank? While the vehicle is running. I hope there is!

I have a 40 gallon gas tank in the truck bed. I want to move fuel to main tank when traveling. So I need to know where I can pump the gas in without effecting the running of the pickup or setting off any codes. I tried to pump in to the vent line next to the fill neck. But it kills the motor. Thanks
