Dashboard panel reads "engine hot ==A/C compressor turned off" this messages comes on even though the air condition is not on. The temperature guage does not move. There is also the sound of a blower or fan. What is happening? It usually goes out by itself, but this is the 3rd time in about 3 weeks.

If the computer thinks the engine is overheating, that is what it will do. Are you sure it isn't overheating?

Let me know.

I have the exact same problem with my 2007 Siverado that started two days ago.

Per a check using a had-held computer at my local Chevy dealer, the engine is NOT overheating. (Temp read 183 when checked) Also not getting any error codes that identify the problem.

Mechanic at the dealer couldn't identify the problem either. Would rather not pay him $$$$$$ to fix the issue by trial and error!
