2006 Chevy Silverado 4 wheel drive

While driving in snow yesterday I noticed a problem with the 4 wheel drive system. During low speed turns the front wheels tended to grab & extra pressure had to be applied to the accelerator to maintain the same forward speed. I'm no mechanic, but it was like the front differential was not allowing the wheels to turn at different speeds

Yes, that is correct. This is a normal condition. It is designed to operate this way.
